About TPAF
Mission
The Tracy Performing Arts Foundation (TPAF) is dedicated to preserving and promoting the performing arts. It is through this branch of humanities that we are able to give back to the community in ways that provide children self-confidence, encourage community participation, create opportunities to achieve excellence, and improve quality of life. TPAF seeks to increase the support for performing arts by working in partnership with other community entities to bring a cross-section of performing arts and related events to Tracy and the surrounding communities.
Non-Profit Organization
TPAF is a nonprofit 501(c)(3)
TPAF Programs
Performing arts programs include our Theatrical Division’s Bistro Live Series productions, Children’s Summer Drama Camps (educational outreach to youth); Tracy ’s Next Producer Director (Film /Video); Encore (A juried competition for those proficient in playing musical instruments); Star Quest (Vocal talent competition); and Show Us What You’ve Got! (Dance talent competition)
We have been pleased to support the production of Tracy, Our Town, USA which tells the colorful and eclectic history of Tracy ’s founders, early citizens and historical leaders who solidified Tracy ’s legacy at the Gateway to the Central Valley and to the Bay Area.
Our History & Highlights
The original vision for the organization was created by Evelyn Tolbert, our Founder. Today Evelyn is retired from the board and continues to serve as an adviser to the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee. Her efforts along with our Founding President, Jack Elliott has allowed us to continue to provide opportunities to focus on youth while bringing performing arts for all ages to enjoy.
- Since 2004, TPAF has garnered local and regional acclaim for bringing innovative events and celebrities to Tracy and since 2007 to the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts.
- During its Grand Opening, TPAF’s production of Tracy, Our Town, USA – Getting Ready for the Grand sold out its performances being the first to sell out all performances in the Studio Theatre.
- In 2008, TPAF proudly presented A Conversation with Carol Channing.
