Don Bisbee graduated from the Western Michigan University with a Bachelors in Theatre Arts with minors in German and English. He holds a Masters of Arts degree in Radio Broadcasting, TV, and Film from Michigan State University and a Master of Arts Candidate at San Francisco State in Theatre Arts. He spent 2 years in the Navy on USS Hancock CVA-19 and has worked professionally in performing arts for decades.
His employment history is only a snapshot of his various accomplishments, roles, and achievements in film, television, and theatre incorporating singing (baritone & tenor), dancing (ballroom & choreography), teaching on-camera workshops, and mentoring to performing artists. He has numerous plaques, certificates, and accolades including:
Husband of the Year in 1968 given by the Tracy Junior Women’s Club; Best Supporting Actor as Dr. Einstein in Arsenic & Old Lace in 1968; Best Supporting Acting as Mr. Velasco in Barefoot in the Park; Best Director for Little Women in 1983; and Best Actor as Curly in Oklahoma in 1992.
He is a retired high school teacher and continues to act professionally in movies, television and community theatre while teaching Theatre Arts classes, directing productions (including designing, building, and painting his own sets), and on camera workshops and seminars in sit.coms, soap operas, commercials, monologues, and improvisation.
He is a devoted husband and community activist holding offices with the Tracy Lions Club and Exchange Club and enjoys playing tennis, golf, and weightlifting,
