Yikes! School’s Out!!!

School’s out and now what do you do with your kids?  Tracy Performing Arts Foundation (T.P.A.F.) has just the ticket for your kids (7-11) and teens (12-18). It’s the second annual Summer Children’s Theatre Camp at the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts.

Starting June 15th, children 7 to 11 are invited to act, dance and sing their way to stardom. The best teachers in the Central Valley will lead them to a command performance of Treasure Island on stage in the Studio Theatre at the Grand TheatreCenter for the Arts.

Young people ages 12 to 18 will have a chance to put the Big Bad Wolf on trial! From June 29 through Aug 1st young thespians will shine as our best of the best instructors guide them to a command performance of The Big Bad Musical!

Where else can kids and teens hang out with their peers, participate in fun activities and be a star?!!

Tracy Performing Arts Foundation is holding a contest to design the poster and program artwork for the 2009 summer day camp and play “Treasure Island”.

Put your pirate patch on as you create a unique piece that will appear on the poster and programs for our play at the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts. Middle and High School students in Tracy Unified, Banta, Tracy Learning Center, New Jerusalem, Jefferson, or Lammersville districts may provide handmade or digital artwork to enter this contest.

The day camp features children 7-11 years old starts June 15, and the play performs July 10-12, at the Grand Theatre. The winning submission becomes property of the Tracy Performing Arts Foundation and original handmade artwork will only be returned if submitted with a self-addressed and stamped envelope with appropriate postage.

** Middle/High School actors and techies – A theatre summer camp will also be held for ages 12 to 18. This year’s production is Oz!—an exciting musical that will take you over the rainbow this summer!
