Yikes! School’s Out!!!

School’s out and now what do you do with your kids?  Tracy Performing Arts Foundation (T.P.A.F.) has just the ticket for your kids (7-11) and teens (12-18). It’s the second annual Summer Children’s Theatre Camp at the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts.

Starting June 15th, children 7 to 11 are invited to act, dance and sing their way to stardom. The best teachers in the Central Valley will lead them to a command performance of Treasure Island on stage in the Studio Theatre at the Grand TheatreCenter for the Arts.

Young people ages 12 to 18 will have a chance to put the Big Bad Wolf on trial! From June 29 through Aug 1st young thespians will shine as our best of the best instructors guide them to a command performance of The Big Bad Musical!

Where else can kids and teens hang out with their peers, participate in fun activities and be a star?!!

There will be four comedy plays performed from January through April.

The plays include “The Foreigner” by Larry Shue, about a shy man who is introduced at a fishing lodge as a tourist who doesn’t speak English; “An Adult Evening of Shel Silverstein,” which includes music, comedy and satire; “And the Winner Is”…” by Mitch Albom, the story of a self-obsessed actor who is nominated for an Oscar but dies the night before the awards and then bargains to return to Earth to be honored; and “I Hate Hamlet” by Paul Rudnick, about a TV actor who doesn’t want to play Hamlet.

Auditions will be at the Grand Theatre, 715 Central Ave., Tracy CA

Auditions for “The Foreigner” and “An Adult Evening”

6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, September 19 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, September 20.

Auditions for “And the Winner Is”…” and “I Hate Hamlet”

6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 17, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 18.

A two-minute prepared monologue is encouraged but not required.
