Tracy: Our Town, USA (Sept. 2009 on the Main Stage) – This will be a vocal/acting audition. This annually revised historic production is a locally written musical chronicling different aspects of Tracy’s history. Each year Evelyn Tolbert writes new material to feature a different focus of community history. This year’s production features a diverse cast featuring the contributions of women in the history of the community. Roles are available for men AND women of diverse ethnic backgrounds.

The Sound of Music (Oct. 16 – 18 in the Studio Theatre) – This will be a vocal/acting audition. Based on the memoirs of Maria Von Trapp, this classic Rodgers & Hammerstein production chronicles the journey of a young postulate as she leaves the convent to governess the Von Trapp children. Finding the home to be strictly disciplined and stifling, the plucky governess introduces the children to music, joy and creativity. When Captain Von Trapp, the children’s father, is summoned to serve in the Navy of the Third Reich – he refuses and the family must flee to the mountains of Switzerland on foot in the middle of the night.

The Diary of Anne Frank (Nov. 13 – 15 on the Studio Theatre Stage) – This is an acting only audition. This year we celebrate what would have been Anne Frank’s 80th birthday. This classic piece of Pulitzer Prize winning literature was adapted to a Tony Award winning stage production in 1955. Spanning a two year period in Nazi occupied Amsterdam, 13 year old Anne Frank captures her experiences, feelings and fears as she lives in hiding in an attic of a factory with her sister, her parents, three members of another family and an old dentist.
